The Tampaย Bay Buccaneers announced Friday that they’ve signed Cย James Stone to a future/reserve contract.
The Buccaneers have now signed 12 players futures deals since their season ended a few weeks ago. The full list includes:

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.
Stone, 24,ย signed on withย the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee back in May ofย 2014.ย He wound up appearing in 12 games during his rookie season before later suffering a torn ACL last year that led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve.
Stone was entering the final year of his three-year, $1.53 million rookie contractย when the Falcons cut him loose in July.
In 2015, Stone appeared in seven games for the Falcons. According to Pro Football Focus,ย Stone played a total of 137 snaps for the Falcons last year.
