Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard Out 2-4 Weeks With MCL Sprain

Adam Schefter reports that Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard sprained his MCL and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks.

Ian Rapoport adds that Howard plans to get a second opinion regarding his knee injury, but the good news is that the Buccaneers are on bye this week, so it’s possible he misses just one game.

Howard, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $11.094 million contract that included a $6.208 million signing bonus and he stands to make base salaries of $1.47 million and $1.47 million over the next two years.

Howard’s contract includes a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.

In 2018, Howard has appeared in four games for the Buccaneers and caught 11 passes for 222 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Buccaneers.
