Buccaneers Waive OL Caylin Hauptmann

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Saturday that they’ve placed offensive lineman Caylin Hauptmann on waivers.

Hauptmann, 25, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Florida International back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Cleveland before he was later signed off of their practice squad by the Seahawks.

Seattle elected to cut him loose at the start of the 2014 season, but he was claimed off of waivers by the Browns. Hauptmann eventually caught on with the Patriots and was brought back on a future/reserve deal before being waived at the start of last year.

The Buccaneers just signed Hauptmann to a contract a few days ago, so this is a somewhat surprising move.

Hauptmann has yet to appear in an NFL game.
