According to Greg Auman, the Buccaneers don’t plan to tender restricted free agent OL Mike Liedtke.
Liedtke missed the entire 2019 season with a shoulder injury that cropped up and needed surgery during training camp.
Auman adds the Buccaneers could still bring Liedtke back on a lower salary at some point later in free agency.
Liedtke, 28, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois State back in 2016. He had brief stints with the Chiefs, Jets and Browns before signing on to the Buccaneers’ practice squad towards the end of the 2016 season.
Tampa Bay brought him back on a future/reserve contract for the 2017 season and he’s been on and off of their roster ever since. He re-signed with the team for the 2019 season as an exclusive rights free agent.
In 2018, Liedtke appeared in nine games for the Buccaneers, but did not make a start.
