Cardinals Place DL Rodney Gunter On IR, Re-Sign DT Caraun Reid

The Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday that they’ve placed DL Rodney Gunter on injured reserve and re-signed DT Caraun Reid.

Gunter, 27, was a fourth-round pick by the Cardinals out of Delaware State in 2015. He signed a four-year deal through the 2018 season before returning to the Cardinals this past March.

In 2019, Gunter appeared in 13 games for the Cardinals and recorded 31 tackles and three sacks.

Reid, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Lions back in 2014. He lasted just over two years in Detroit before he was waived at the start of the 2016 season and later claimed off of waivers by the Chargers.

Unfortunately, Reid suffered a season-ending ACL tear in 2016 and was placed on injured reserve. The Chargers elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason and he had brief stints with the Lions, Redskins and Colts before signing on with the Cowboys.

Reid signed with the Colts during the preseason but was released during final roster cuts. The Cardinals signed last week before recently waiving him.

In 2018, Reid appeared in 10 games for the Cowboys and recorded 10 tackles, a half sack and a forced fumble.
