Cardinals Promoting TE Gabe Holmes From PS, Waive RB Bronson Hill

Ian Rapoport reports that the Cardinals are promoting TE Gabe Holmes from their practice squad and are waiving RB Bronson Hill to make room for him.

Holmes, 26, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue back in May of 2015. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of preseason, but was cut loose just a few weeks later.

The Raiders later signed him to their practice squad after he cleared waivers and elected to bring Holmes back on a one-year, exclusive rights contract this past April. Unfortunately, Oakland waived him coming out of the preseason and he later signed on to the Seahawks’ practice squad.

Seattle elected to release him and he later signed on to the Ravens’ practice squad. Arizona signed him to their practice squad at the end of November.

Holmes has yet to appear in an NFL game.
