Cardinals Sign TE Gabe Holmes & DT Vincent Valentine To PS, Cut Two Players

According to Darren Urban, the Cardinals signed TE Gabe Holmes and DT Vincent Valentine to their practice squad and cut DT Pasoni Tasini and TE Andrew Vollert to make room for them.

The Cardinals’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. QB Charles Kanoff
  2. WR Jalen Tolliver
  3. CB Chris Jones
  4. C Coleman Shelton
  5. RB Brandon Wilds
  6. DB Deatrick Nichols
  7. LB Vontarrius Dora
  8. C Kyle Friend
  9. TE Gabe Holmes
  10. DT Vincent Valentine

Holmes, 27, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue back in May of 2015. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of preseason, but was cut loose just a few weeks later.

The Raiders later signed him to their practice squad after he cleared waivers and elected to bring Holmes back on a one-year, exclusive rights contract this past April. Unfortunately, Oakland waived him coming out of the preseason and he later signed on to the Seahawks’ practice squad.

Seattle elected to release him and he later signed on to the Ravens’ practice squad. Arizona signed him to their practice squad at the end of November and promoted him to their active roster in December of last year.

He made the Cardinals’ active roster coming out of the preseason but was recently cut loose.
