Cardinals Will “Look At” Possible Extension For RB Chris Johnson

Cardinals GM Steve Keim mentioned during an appearance on Arizona Sports 98.7. that Chris Johnson‘s current deal is “something we will look at” in regards to a potential extension, via AzCardinals.com.

Urban writes that even though Johnson has been a solid addition to their offense, Keim and the Cardinals have been cautious with older veterans that have one-year deals.

With this in mind, Urban believes Arizona will stick to a specific number that they have mind for Johnson, or move on without him.

Johnson, 30, signed on with the Cardinals back in August and received a  one-year, $870,000 contract, which means he would be an unrestricted free agent next March.

This season, Johnson has appeared in five games and ran for 405 yards on 79 carries (5.1 YPC) to go along with four receptions for 51 yards receiving and two total touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 52 running back out of 58 qualifying players.
