Bills Hosting Matt Slauson For A Visit After He Met With Chargers

Update:

The Buffalo Bills announced that they’re hosting free agent G Matt Slauson for a visit on Friday.

  • Mike Rodak of ESPN previously reports that Slauson was traveling to Buffalo to meet with the Bills on Thursday after his visit with the Chargers concluded without an agreement.

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that free agent G Matt Slauson has visits scheduled with the Chargers and Bills.

The Bears elected to cut Slauson loose over the weekend, but it took just a few days for him to set up some visits with NFL teams.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Slauson to a contract wouldn’t factor into a team’s 2017 compensatory picks.

Slauson, 30, was in the third year of his four-year, $12.8 million contract when he was released in a move that freed up $2,570,000 in available cap space for the Bears.

In 2015, Slauson appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 5 center out of 39 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
