Michael Gehlken of the Union-Tribune reports that the Chargers will meetย with LTย King Dunlap‘sย representation at the Combine this week.
According toย Gehlken, San Diego would like to re-sign him before the start of free agency.
Dunlap, 29, signed aย two-year contract worthย $3,700,000 contract, which included $950,000 guaranteedย with the Chargers back in 2013. He has outplayed this contract and should be in for a sizable raise given that the offensive tackle market is fairly limited.
In 2014,ย Dunlap appeared in all 16 games for the Chargers and rates as the No. 23 offensive tackle in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.

This is a ‘no-brainier’…with his age and size..he is a keeper!! Let’s remember we had 5 different Centers in 2014, so keeping a key OT is necessary. Also, I like his first name!!
Look at the draft, we have some Offensive Linemen solid starters in the first two rounds…I especially like: AJ Cann and Hroniss Grasu at OG and or C. And Cedric Ogbuehi and A. Peat at OT…hopefully we can pick up one of them in the first round or second!!
Did KC’s Rodney Hudson resign? If he didn’t we would have a solid pick in the draft and then add Hudson AND for us to resign: King Dunlap and Doug Legursky…we would have a solid Offense Line to keep for a couple of years!!

Rodney Hudson is in good position to reach the open market. Would be a great fit for the Chargers.
To me, they should really consider adding an offensive tackle in the draft such as Peat, Clemmings, Collins, or Flowers. This would allow them to move Flucker insides where he can lean on his phenomenal strength.
Though, he’s massive and his size could hurt his ability to get under the pads of defensive tackles.
Let’s hope that Hudson will enter the Free Agency…
What school did Flowers play for? I have not kept up on him…
