The Los Angeles Chargers announced Wednesday that they’ve placed CB Trevor Williams on the injured reserve with a knee injury and waivedย LB Tre’Von Johnson.
- The Chargers also promoted RB Troymaine Pope to their active roster and signedย LB Kyle Wilsonย to a contract.
Williams, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State back in 2016. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason.
After a stint on the Chargers’ practice squad, Williams was promoted to the active roster in October of 2016. He’ll be a restricted free agent in 2019.
In 2018, Williams appeared in nine games for the Chargers and recorded 23 tackles, one interception and four pass defenses.
