Chargers Reach An Agreement With RB Danny Woodhead

Mike Reiss reports that the San Diego Chargers have reached a two-year agreement with free agent RB Danny Woodhead.

The Patriots recently signed Leon Washington to a one-year deal, which left Woodhead on the outs in New England.

San Diego lost Darren Sproles to the Saints a few years ago and haven’t found an adequate replacement for him since. Ronnie Brown was their third-down back last season, but with a new regime in place, it seemed unlikely that he would be brought back.

Woodhead was a very solid contributor for the Patriots in the last two years, so we’ll have to see if he’s capable of continuing that success with the Chargers.

  1. How about signing a replacement for that first round BUST Ryan Matthews. Second or third round draft choices always play harder, and usually “pan out” to be a better investment. At least the Bolts are trying to fill all the holes the have with very little Cap Space to work with.
