The Los Angeles Chargers officially waived LB James Onwualu from injured reserve with a settlement on Saturday.
Onwualu, 23, signed on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame back in April of last year. He was waived in the final weeks of the 2017 season and signed to the team’s practice squad.
Los Angeles re-signed Onwualu to a one-year futures deal back in January but was waived with an injury designation on Wednesday and he later reverted to injured reserve.
In 2017, Onwualu appeared in nine games for the Chargers and recorded eight total tackles.
