Chiefs Activating OLB Tamba Hali From PUP List

According to Adam Schefter, the Chiefs are activatingย OLB Tamba Hali (knee) from the PUP list on Wednesday and he will return to the practice field later today.

Hali was placed on the PUP list during the preseason and the Chiefs elected to keep him there to open the season, which cost them at least the first six games of the season.

During the summer, Hali expressed frustration with his role last year and the fact that he was limited during the team’s playoff game. However, they were able to iron out any issues.

Hali, 33, is a former first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2006. He’s currently in the second year of his three-year, $22 million contract that includes $12 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $5.75 million over the final two years of the contract.

In 2016, Hali appeared in all 16 games and recorded 34 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.
