Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Chiefs CB Kendall Fuller played through a painful wrist injury that’s believed to be a fracture during Thursday’s loss to the Chargers.
According to Rapoport, Fuller is expected to undergo wrist surgery Friday morning.
The Chiefs’ secondary is already thin, so this is another blow to the unit.
Fuller, 23, is a former third-round pick of the Redskins back in 2016. He was traded to the Chiefs during the offseason as part of the Alex Smith deal.
Fuller is in the third year of his four-year, $3.12 million contract and set to make a base salary of $750,000 for the 2019 season.
In 2018, Fuller appeared in 14 games and recorded 70 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and 12 pass defenses.
