Chiefs Expected To Have Some Interest In TE Brent Celek

Mike Silver of NFL Media confirms that former Eagles TE Brent Celek is visiting with the Lions on Thursday and adds that the Chiefs could also have interest in signing him to a contract.

Celek recently confirmed he plans to return for a 12th season in 2018, which left the Eagles in a tough position, considering that they need to find cap room this offseason.

Celek, 33, is a former fifth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2007. He was in the final year of his four-year, $18 million contract that included $6 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $4 million for the 2018 season when the Eagles recently released him.

In 2017, Celek appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and caught 13 passes for 130 yards receiving and one touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 62 tight end out of 71 qualifying players.
