The Kansas City Chiefs announced Wednesday that they’ve officially signed G Kelechi Osemele and placed five players on waivers.
The full list of roster cuts for the Chiefs includes:
- G Jovahn Fair
- DT Braxton Hoyett
- CB Jalen Julius
- FB John Lovett
- P Tyler Newsome
- LB Byran Wright
Osemele is reportedly signing a one-year deal with Kansas City is worth up to $2 million.
Last year, Osemele made the decision last year to undergo the shoulder procedure against the wishes of the Jets, which ultimately led to his release.
Osemele, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Ravens back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the Ravens before signing a five year, $58.5 million contract with the Raiders back in 2016.
The Raiders traded Osemele to the Jets this offseason for a fifth-round pick. He was later released by the Jets in October of last year and sat out the remainder of the season.
In 2019, Osemele appeared in three games for the Jets, making three starts.
