Chiefs Pick Up OT Eric Fisher’s Fifth-Year Option

The Kansas City Chiefs have elected to pick up LT Eric Fisher‘s fifth-year option, according to Adam Schefter.

The fifth-year option will run the Chiefs $11.9 millionย in 2017, but is guaranteed only for injury and won’t prevent them from working on a long-term extension over the next year.

Fisher, 25, was the No. 1 overall pick back in 2013. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $22.19 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $675,000 to go along with a $2,755,977 bonus in 2016.

In 2015, Fisher appeared inย all 16 games for the Chiefs and was rated byย Pro Football Focusย as the No. 36 offensive tackle out of 77 qualifying players.
