The Kansas City Chiefs officially activated DT Xavier Williams from injured reserve Wednesday and placed RB Spencer Ware on the list.
Ware, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2013. He spent over a year in Seattle before signing on with the Chiefs at the end of the 2014 season.
The Chiefs signed Ware to a three-year, $4.2 million contract that included $1.6 million guaranteed in 2016 and became an unrestricted free agent this past March.
The Colts signed Ware to a one-year, $1.3 million deal for the 2019 season but was later released from the PUP list. The Chiefs re-signed Ware a few weeks ago.
In 2019, Ware appeared in three games for the Chiefs and rushed for 51 yards on 17 carries (3 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 22 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
Williams, 27, wound up signing on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa back in 2015. He wound up playing out his three-year, $1,583,000 contract with the Cardinals.
The Chiefs signed Williams to an offer sheet as a restricted free agent in 2018 after Arizona tendered him with the original round designation. He was awarded to Kansas City after the Cardinals declined to match.
In 2019, Williams has appeared in five games for the Chiefs and recorded eight total tackles and one forced fumble.
