Chiefs Prepared To Fire Todd Haley?

Nick Wright of 610 Kansas City reports that Chiefs GM Scott Pioli would have fired head coach Todd Haley if they had lost to the Colts last weekend.

There have been a number of reports that a rift has emerged between Pioli and Haley but this is the first report that mentioned that the team was ready to take action. The obvious question now is just how much room for error does Haley have left? I’d expect Haley to remain on the hot seat for the remainder of the season despite winning two games in row. Romeo Crennel is logical replacement if the Chiefs choose to cut Haley lose. It’s amazing how fast things change in the NFL as the Chiefs made the playoffs despite being an underdog to the San Diego Chargers heading into 2010.
