The Kansas City Chiefs announced Sunday that they’ve promoted WR Gehrig Dieter to their active roster.
It’s worth mentioning that WR Sammy Watkins (foot) missed practice on Friday and Saturday, so this could be an indication that the team plans to have him inactive for Monday’s game against the Rams.
Dieter, 25, wound up signing on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason and spent the year on the Chiefs’ practice squad.
Kansas City brought Dieter back on a futures contract this past January only to cut him coming out of the preseason before once again adding him to their practice squad.
During his college career at Bowling Green and Alabama, Dieter caught 144 passes for 1,707 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns over the course of three seasons and 35 games.
