Matt Williamson of Scouts Inc. mentioned that Chiefs S Eric Berry “doesn’t look like the same guy as when he entered the NFL.”
Berry torn his ACL at the beginning of the 2011 season, but he hasn’t resembled his previous self on the playing field.
“It really has stood out as a coverage player and I think teams are targeting him,” said Williamson, via ESPN.com. “He just isn’t moving as explosively or crisply. He also isn’t showing up in big on tape in other facets.”
Williamson adds that he believes Berry can still return to his previous form, but he will have to improve his ability to move around and cover opposing receivers.
Berry’s still only 23 years old, so there’s plenty of time for him to fully recuperate. The Chiefs defense is very talented, but they haven’t played up to their ability this season considering that they are allowing 30.5 points per game.
