Redmond, 24, was taken in the third round of this year’s NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $3.54 million contract with the 49ers and stands to make a base salary of $590,880 for the 2017 season.
Redmond wound up spending the entire 2016 on injured reserve after he suffered a torn ACL. Unfortunately, the 49ers waived Redmond with an injury designation and he was once again placed on injured reserve coming out of the preseason.
San Francisco waived Redmondย from injured reserve with a settlement a few month ago and he later signed on to the Chiefs’ practice squad.
During his college career at Mississippi State, Redmond recorded 94 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, five interceptions, and eight pass defenses over the course of three seasons and 26 games.
