Chiefs Sign RB Damien Williams To Two-Year Extension Worth Up To $8.1M

Terez A. Paylor reports that the Chiefs have signed RB Damien Williams to a two-year extension on Thursday.

According to Ian Rapoport, Williams’ new two-year contract is worth up to $8.1 million.

Williams, 26, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma back in 2014. He finished out the final year of a three-year, $1,535,000 rookie contract before the Dolphins used an original-round restricted tender on him worth $1.797 million for the 2017 season.

The Chiefs signed Williams to a one-year, $1.5 million contract this past March. He was set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

In 2018, Williams has appeared in 15 games for the Chiefs and rushed for 205 yards on 39 carries (5.3 YPC) to go along with 22 receptions for 152 yards receiving and five total touchdowns.
