Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Chiefs are bringing in free agent K John Lunsford for a workout with K Cairo Santos dealing with a groin injury.
- Rapoport adds that K Conrad Ukropina also worked out for the team.
Lunsford, 23, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Liberty back in May of last year. He was, unfortunately, waived during the preseason and sat out all of 2016.
The Buccaneers signed him to a future/reserve contract in January, but elected to waive him a few months later. Lunsford was later claimed by the Seahawks. Unfortunately, Lunsford was cut loose a few weeks after this year’s NFL draft.
During his college career, Lunsford converted 48 of 79 field goal attempts (60.8 percent) to go along with 150 of 154 extra point tries for a total of 294 points over the course of 44 games.
