Police Investigating Battery Incidents At Home Of Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill

Update:

KCTV News 5 reports that a battery investigation is underway involving a juvenile at the home of Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill.

According to the report, police were called to a home on Thursday and had previously been called to the same residence back on March to investigate a report of child abuse or neglect.

The police report from March 5 shows Hill’s name, but Overland Park police tell KCTV that the report was closed three days later.

Beyond that, Hill’s name is also not listed on the most recent battery report, but his address is shown under the location.

KCTV’s sources have said that Overland Park Police Department has turned over their investigation to the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office for review.

According to the Kansas City Star, Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill is being investigated for an alleged battery against a juvenile victim.

Hill’s fiancee, Crystal Espinal, is listed under โ€œothers involved.โ€

As of now, it’s unclear when the incident took place and as of Friday, Hill has not been charged in the matter.

The Chiefs released the following statement to the Star, saying that they’re aware of the incident.

โ€œThe club is aware of the investigation involving Tyreek Hill. Weโ€™re in the process of gathering information and have been in contact with the league and local authorities. Weโ€™ll have no further comment at this time.โ€

The Star, citing a source familiar with the situation, reports that Hillโ€™s fiancee has been in contact with Overland Park police and the incident was against the coupleโ€™s son and resulted in the young child having a broken arm.

Hill reportedly punched and choked Espinal back in 2014 while she was then eight weeks pregnant with their son. He was later arrested and dismissed from the Oklahoma State before pleading guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation. Hill received three years of probation for the incident.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported a few weeks ago that the Chiefs have begun negotiations with Hill on what will end up being a record-setting deal when complete.

Hill, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2016. He is entering the final year of his four-year, $2.58 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1,965,036 for the 2019 season.

In 2018, Hill appeared in 16 games for the Chiefs and caught 87 passes for 1,479 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns to go along with 151 yards rushing and a touchdown. Hill also totaled 213 punt returns and one touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 7 receiver out of 117 qualifying players.

We’ll have more Hill regarding as the news is available.
