Cleveland Browns RB Trent Richardson Expected To Play In Week 1

Cleveland Browns GM Tom Heckert believes there is a “pretty good chance” that running back Trent Richardson will be ready to play come Week 1, the Akron Beacon-Journal reports.

Heckert was speaking to Jim Donovan of WKYC. Richardson suffered a torn meniscus in the BCS Title game when Alabama defeated LSU and underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee ย on August 9, the second procedure in six months for him.

Richardson was the third overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. His knee might not be 100% come Week 1 when the Browns host the Philadelphia Eagles, which could mean some touches for the team’s backup tailback, Montario Hardesty.
