Colts Recently Turned Down Two Trade Offers For QB Jacoby Brissett

Stephen Holder of the Indy Star reports that the Colts recently turned down two trade offers from teams for backup QB Jacoby Brissett and plan to keep him on their roster moving forward.

According to Holder, the identity of the interested teams in Brissett wasn’t revealed to him.

It makes sense that the Colts would want to keep Brissett, seeing as there are still concerns about Andrew Luck‘s status moving forward, as he continues to work his way back from a shoulder injury that cost him the entire 2017 season.

Brissett, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $3.411 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $735,076 and $890,114 over the next two years.

The Patriots traded Brisset to the Colts coming out of the preseason last year in return for WR Phillip Dorsett.

In 2017, Brissett had appeared in all 16 games and thrown for 3,098 yards while completing 58.8 percent of his passes to go along with 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 240 yards and four touchdowns.
