The Indianapolis Colts announced Friday that they’ve released cornerback Patrick Robinson.
Robinson, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2010. He spent five years in New Orleans before signing a three-year, $14 million contract with the Colts that included $6 million guaranteed.
Robinson was set to make base salaries of $3 million and $4.5 million over the next two years.
According toย OverTheCap.com,ย releasing Robinson willย free up $2.5 millionย of available cap space while creating $2 million in dead money.
In 2016, Robinson has appeared in seven games and totaled 26 tackles, a forced fumble, no interceptions and five pass defenses.
