The Indianapolis Colts announced Monday that they’ve signed WR Matt Hazel to their practice squad and released CB Taurean Nixon from the unit.
The Colts’ practice squad now consists of:
- QB Phillip Walker
- TE Mo Alie-Cox
- DB Ronald Martin
- DB Denzel Rice
- WR Dres Anderson
- LB Joshua Perry
- G Isaiah Williams
- OT Andreas Knappe
- DT Jeremy Liggins
- WR Matt Hazel
Hazel, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2014. He lasted just over two years in Miami before he was waived at the start of last season and later signed to the Bills practice squad.
After a brief stint with the Redskins, Hazel was claimed off of waivers by the Colts. Hazel has been on and off of the Colts’ active roster this season.
In 2017, Hazel has appeared in two games and caught one pass for one yard and no touchdowns.
