Colts Signing DT Sheldon Day

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Colts are signing former 49ers DT Sheldon Day to a one-year contract on Wednesday.

Day is the second defensive tackle from the 49ers the Colts have added this offseason after they traded for DeForset Buckner last year.

Day, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2016. He was in in the second year of his four-year, $2.9 million contract when the Jaguars waived him during the 2017 season.

The 49ers later claimed Day off of waivers and he’s spent the past three years in San Francisco.

In 2019, Day appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and recorded 15 tackles and a sack.

We had him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
