Colts Signing WR Ryan Grant To One-Year, $5M Deal

According to James Jones, the Colts are signing former Redskins WR Ryan Grant to a contract on Tuesday.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Grant’s deal with the Colts is a one-year contract worth $5 million.

Grant failed a physical for the Ravens after agreeing to a four-year, $29 million deal. Since then, he took visits with the Raiders and Colts, but it appears as though Indianapolis wound up being his best option in the end.

The specific injury that led to the failed physical was an ankle injury that dated back to the Redskins’ final regular-season game, according to a report.

Grant’s agent, Rocky Arceneaux, tells Schefter: “If there were a game tomorrow, Ryan would be able to play.”

Arceneaux added that his client has been working out, running routes and his ankle was cleared from a second opinion from Dr. Robert Anderson and is not an issue, per Schefter.

Grant, 27, is a former fifth-round pick by the Redskins out of Tulane in the 2014 NFL Draft. He just finished a four-year, $2,433,612 rookie contract and was testing the open market for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2017, Grant appeared in all 16 games for the Redskins and recorded 45 receptions for 573 yards receiving (12.7 YPC) and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 57 out of 116 qualifiers.
