McNichols later decided to sign on to the 49ers’ practice squad and eventually promoted him to their active roster. However, he was once again cut loose coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Colts’ practice squad before being promoted last week.
During his college career at Boise State, McNichols rushed for 3,205 yards on 571 carries (5.6 YPC) to go along with 103 receptions for 1,089 yards receiving and 55 total touchdowns over the course of three seasons and 34 games.
Washington, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Lions back in 2016. He spent two years in Detroit before being waived as they cut their roster down to 53 players coming out of the preseason.
Washington later signed on to the Saints’ practice squad at the start of the regular season before eventuallyย being promoted.
In 2017, Washington appeared in five games for the Lions and rushed for 44 yards on 20 carries (2.2 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 14 yards and no touchdowns. He also contributed 31 kick return yards.
