According to Howard Balzer, the Indianapolis Colts worked out three free agents on Wednesday including G Willie Beavers,ย OT Rich Max andย TE Jason Vander Laan.
The Colts also brought in RB Josh Ferguson for a visit and signed him to their practice squad.
Beavers, 23, is a former fourth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2016. He signed a four-year, $2.87 million contract with the team but wound up being among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.
The Vikings later signed him to their practice squad and eventually promoted him to their active roster last season. The Patriots signed him to their practice squad but released him two weeks later.
The 49ers worked out Beavers shortly after he was waived, but did not sign him to a deal.
In 2016, Beavers was active for two games.
During his college career at Western Michigan, Beavers was a three-year starter and a first-team All-MAC as a senior.
