According to Nicki Jhabvala, the plan for Washington to replace LT Laremy Tunsil is to kick OL Brandon Coleman from guard to tackle.
Coleman started at left tackle for most of his rookie season in 2024 before Washington acquired Tunsil in a trade. He kicked inside to left guard but lost the starting job there to Chris Paul.
The two had been competing again this summer but Coleman will be needed on the blind side for most, if not all, of the season after Tunsil tore his triceps.
Coleman, 25, was a three-year starter at TCU and earned second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2023. The Commanders drafted him with the No. 67 overall pick in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
He’s entering the third year of a four-year, $6,058,224 contract that included a $1,225,980 signing bonus.
In 2025, Coleman appeared in 12 games for the Commanders and made five starts.
