Cowboys DE Robert Quinn Suspended Two Games

According to Adam Schefter, Cowboys DE Robert Quinn has been suspended two games by the NFL for violating the performance-enhancing drug policy.

Quinn’s agent released the following statement claiming his client tested positive from a component found in medication he takes for seizures:

Quinn recently had surgery to repair a fractured hand but was expected to be ready for Week 1. He now won’t see his first game action for Dallas until Week 3.

Quinn, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Rams back in 2011. Los Angeles traded him to the Dolphins in March of last year for a 2018 fourth- and sixth-round picks.  He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $66.575 million extension that included $41.268 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $11.811 million for the 2019 season.

The Dolphins traded Quinn this offseason in a move that freed up $12,932,332 of available cap space while creating no dead money. Dallas sent a 2020 sixth-round draft pick to Miami in exchange for Quinn.

In 2018, Quinn appeared in all 16 games for the Dolphins and recorded 38 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 38 edge rusher out of 103 qualifying players.
