Cowboys HC Jason Garrett announced Monday that they’re placing S Kavon Frazier on injured reserve with a pectoral muscle injury, per Calvin Watkins.
Reports from earlier in the day mentioned the possibility of this being a season-ending injury for Frazier, so this isn’t a big surprise.
Dallas is down to Jeff Heath, Darian Thompson, and rookie Donovan Wilson at safety.
Frazier, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2016. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.44 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season.
Frazier will be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2019, Frazier appeared in four games for the Cowboys and recorded three tackles and no interceptions.
