According to Calvin Watkins, the Cowboys are promoting LB Chris Covington from their practice squad to the active roster on Saturday and waiving OL Caleb Benenoch.
Covington, 23, is a former sixth-round pick of the Cowboys in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Indiana. He was entering the second year of his a four-year, $2.6 million rookie contract when Dallas cut him coming out of last preseason.
Since then, Covington has been on and off the Cowboys’ practice squad this year.
In 2018, Covington appeared in five games for the Cowboys and recorded one tackle and no other statistics.
