Cowboys Moving QB Jameill Showers To Safety

Todd Archer of ESPN reports that the Cowboys are not calling upย QB Jameill Showers, but they are moving him to safety.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cowboys are promoting QB Jameill Showers to their active roster, but not as a quarterback. Instead, Showers will play safety for them and contribute on special teams.

Showers, 25, wound up going undrafted out of UTEP back in May of last year before signing a three-year, $1.425 million contract with the Cowoys.

The Cowboys cut him loose coming out of the preseason before signing him to their practice squad at the start of the season.

Showers completedย 266 ofย 474 passing attempts forย 3,121 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions over the course of two years at UTEP.
