Cowboys Rumors: Dez Bryant & Brandon Carr

Dez Bryant

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has praised Dez Bryant for his conditioning, maturity, and professionalism this week, according to Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News.

โ€œI know one thing,โ€ said Jones. โ€œHe certainly is different as far as his maturity and as far as his understanding of what it takes to play in the National Football League than when he got here.โ€

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones added that he expects to see Bryant to emerge as the teamโ€™s No. 1 receiver this season.

โ€œI think (Bryant) needs to be a No. 1 receiver,โ€ Jones said, via DallasCowboys.com. โ€œNot to take anything away from Miles [Austin], but I would submit to you that when we line up out there that the guy that theyโ€™re most worried about is Dez.โ€

Bryant is coming off of a season that didnโ€™t live up to expectations, but heโ€™s certainly a very talented player that should really be force for the Cowboys offense, assuming that he takes the next step.

Brandon Carr

Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News notes that CB Brandon Carr has โ€œundoubtedlyโ€ been the Cowboys best defensive back during spring practices.

Carr received a huge contract from Dallas, so they should at least feel good that theyโ€™re investment went towards a talented player that fits one of their biggest areas of need. Itโ€™s worth noting that first-round pick Morris Claiborne has yet to take the field because of the fact that heโ€™s recovering from a wrist surgery that he underwent a few months ago.
