Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cowboys could end up signing former Redskinsย RB Alfred Morrisย to a contract during his visit with the team on Monday.
- Rapoport also reports that Dallas is expected to sign former Chargers CB Patrick Robinsonย to a contract today.
This is the first visit forย Morris since the market opened over a week ago. Previous reports have mentioned the Dolphins as a team with interest in Morris, but there hasn’t been much regarding this idea in recent weeks.
Dallas could really use another running back, and Morris currently among the best available options.
Morris, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $2,223,100 rookie contract with the Redskins and is testing the open market for the first time asย an unrestricted free agent.
In 2015, Morris appeared in all 16 games for the Redskins and ran for 751 yards on 202 carries (3.7 YPC) to go along with 10 receptions for 55 yards receiving and a touchdown.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 52 running backย out of 68 qualifying players.
We haveย him featuredย in ourย Best Available Free Agents list.
