Cowboys Sign RB Trey Williams Off Redskins Practice Squad

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cowboys are signing RB Trey Williams off of the Redskins practice squad on Wednesday.

This move comes just a day after the team surprisingly waived RB Joseph Randle, who opened the season as their starting running back.

Darren McFadden and Christine Michael are likely to server as the team’s top-two running backs for the remainder of the season.

Williams, 22, wound up signing on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M a few days after this year’s NFL draft. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but was later added to their practice squad.

Wiliams has yet to appear in an NFL game.
