The Dallas Cowboys officially signed three players to future/reserve contracts on Wednesday including OT Justin Renfrow, LB Jerrell Harris and G Jared Smith.
The Cowboys previously signed eight players including:
- WR Donte Foster
- DE Mike McAdoo
- DB Brandon McGee
- LB Derek Akunne
- DB Buddy Jackson
- RB Ben Malena
- DE Efe Obada
- LB Keith Smith
Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.
Renfrow, 26, originally signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2014. Since then, Renfrow has had brief stints with the Packers and Seahawks before signing on with the 49ers in May of last year.
Unfortunately for him, he was among their final roster cuts at the start of the season, but later returned to the team in October.
He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
