Daniel Jeremiah Says He Hasn’t Been Contacted By Jets

Daniel Jeremiah addressed the recent report today that he’s under “serious consideration” for a “prominent” from office position with the Jets.

“It was an interesting 24-48 hours there. There was a lot of conspiracy theory; people saying, ‘DJ hasn’t been on the podcast, this is all part of this elaborate plan.’ I’m like we had this scheduled that I was going to take a little bit of a break after the draft,” Jeremiah said, via NFL Media. “Look, I haven’t said anything on any of this stuff with the Jets. The reason I haven’t said anything [is] I have not been contacted by anybody with the Jets. I’m very happy doing what I’m doing here. I couldn’t be happier, things couldn’t be better.”

A number of reports have connected Eagles VP of player personnel Joe Douglas to the Jets as a likely replacement for Mike Maccagnan.

Douglas is close friends with Jeremiah and they spent five years together while they were with the Ravens from 2003-07, which is likely why his name had been linked to the Jets.

Jeremiah, 41, worked for a few teams as an NFL scout including the Ravens, Browns and Eagles. He was hired by the NFL Network in 2012.

Jeremiah actually replaced Mike Mayock as the NFL Network’s top draft analyst after he was hired by the Raiders as their GM this past January.

We’ll have more regarding the Jets as the news is available.
