Falcons free agent LB O’Brien Schofield tells Josina Anderson that while he would love to be back in Atlanta, they “aren’t seeing eye-to-eye” on a new contract.
“I would love to be back in Atlanta,” Schofield said. “Thought I did some good things. We aren’t seeing eye-to-eye on a contract.”
According to Anderson, the Dolphins, Cowboys, and Seahawks have all made preliminary inquiries on him.
Vaughn McClure of ESPN previously reported that the Falcons and the reps for Schofield are working together on a new contract. McClure added that Schofield was also generating interest from the Cowboys, Bears, and Titans.
Schofield, 28, wound up following Dan Quinn to Atlanta and signing a one-year contract with the Falcons last year. He’s once again in position to test the open market for the third time in the past four seasons.
In 2015, Schofield appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and recorded 29 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble.
