Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that Dolphins WR Jakeem Grant will be placed on injured reserve Monday with an Achilles injury.
A source tells Salguero that Grant did not rupture the tendon, which will prevent him from undergoing full reconstructive surgery and a rehabilitation process that would last 10-12 months.
The good news for Grant is that he is expected to be 100 percent healthy for the start of training camp next year.
Grant, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.48 million contract and set to make base salaries of $630,000 and $720,000 over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Grant appeared in 10 games for the Dolphins and caught 21 passes for 268 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He also totaled 763 kick and punt return yards to go along with two touchdowns.
