Dolphins HC Brian Flores announced that rookie UDFA WR Preston Williams would miss the remainder of the season after suffering an injury Sunday against the Jets, per Adam Beasley.
- Barry Jackson reports that Williams suffered a torn ACL.
Williams’ injury is to his knee, per Cameron Wolfe. Flores didn’t want to speculate on when in 2020 the young receiver would be able to return.
“It’s a big loss for us. I talked to him this morning. He’s done an incredible job,” Flores said. “Came to us as a free agent and has really grown the last six, seven months. I was devastated for the kid. I told him this is just a bump in the road.”
Williams, 22, signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado State following the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a three-year deal worth $1.755 million.
In 2019, Williams appeared in eight games for the Dolphins and caught 32 passes for 428 yards (13.4 YPC) and three touchdowns.
