Dolphins WR Preston Williams Out For Season With ACL Tear

Dolphins HC Brian Flores announced that rookie UDFA WR Preston Williams would miss the remainder of the season after suffering an injury Sunday against the Jets, per Adam Beasley

Williams’ injury is to his knee, per Cameron Wolfe. Flores didn’t want to speculate on when in 2020 the young receiver would be able to return.

“It’s a big loss for us. I talked to him this morning. He’s done an incredible job,” Flores said. “Came to us as a free agent and has really grown the last six, seven months. I was devastated for the kid. I told him this is just a bump in the road.”

Williams, 22, signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado State following the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a three-year deal worth $1.755 million.

In 2019, Williams appeared in eight games for the Dolphins and caught 32 passes for 428 yards (13.4 YPC) and three touchdowns.
