Dolphins Willing To Give Ryan Tannehill A Shot At Starting Week 1

Miami Dolphins new head coach Joe Philbin isnโ€™t ruling out the possibility of starting first-round pick Ryan Tannehill in Week 1 of the upcoming season.

Philbin said that heโ€™ll let the โ€œbest man win,โ€ which is really all that any of the teamโ€™s quarterbacks can ask for at this point.

โ€œThe difference is going to be the decision-making, the accuracy, the playmaking ability,โ€ Philbin insisted, via the Palm Beach Post.

Yesterday, Tannehill mentioned that the Dolphinsโ€™ current playbook is 80-85 percent similar to the one that Mike Sherman was using at Texas A&M and 65-70 percent of those plays are โ€œthe exact same.โ€

Both Matt Moore and David Garrard still have a shot at winning the job, but Tannehillโ€™s experience with Sherman and overall ability give him at least a fighting chance in this competition.
