Dolphins Willing To Give Ryan Tannehill A Shot At Starting Week 1

Miami Dolphins new head coach Joe Philbin isn’t ruling out the possibility of starting first-round pick Ryan Tannehill in Week 1 of the upcoming season.

Philbin said that he’ll let theĀ “best man win,” which is really all that any of the team’s quarterbacks can ask for at this point.

“The difference is going to be the decision-making, the accuracy, the playmaking ability,” Philbin insisted, via theĀ Palm Beach Post.

Yesterday,Ā TannehillĀ mentionedĀ that theĀ Dolphins’ currentĀ playbook isĀ 80-85 percent similar to the one that Mike Sherman was using atĀ Texas A&M andĀ 65-70 percent of those plays are “the exact same.

BothĀ Matt Moore and David Garrard still have a shot at winning the job, butĀ Tannehill’s experience with Sherman and overall ability give him at least a fighting chance in this competition.
